Top 5 Interior Design Trends for 2025
At Seddon and Davison, we don’t follow trends for the sake of it—but we do love keeping an eye on the ones that catch our attention. For 2025, interior design is embracing bold looks, tactile textures, and timeless styles. While vibrant maximalism is definitely on trend, it’s one we will admire from afar. Instead, our heart lies firmly with modern rustic interiors that balance natural materials with a touch of glamour.
Here are five key trends for 2025 that complement our style and will be featuring in-store, from statement lighting to art deco influences.
1. An Earthy Colour Palette
One of our favourite trends for 2025 is the timeless appeal of an earthy colour palette, including Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2025: Mocha Mousse (Read our blog for key pieces). This warm, versatile brown blends effortlessly with tones like terracotta, walnut, and caramel, creating a rich foundation for interiors that feel cosy yet elegant.
"Earthy tones bring a sense of grounding to a space," says Kara. "They feel natural and timeless, but when paired with subtle hints of metallic or smoked glass, they can really shine."
From soft neutrals to deeper shades, this palette offers endless opportunities for layering, making it easy to create a home that feels warm and inviting. Consider pairing rich tones with textured accents like the Cassandra Vase, the Quilo Duo Cushion in Cream and Brown or Pillar candles in either walnut, coffee or honey.
In-store in Ilkley and Settle we have a range of sheepskin pouffes or faux florals in shades of rust and almond to add extra warmth to a room.
2. The Art Deco Aesthetic
Sleek metallic accents, luxurious finishes, and rich tones—Art Deco is having a resurgence in 2025. But this isn’t about recreating the roaring ’20s. The modern take on Art Deco pairs its glamour with contemporary materials and a more subtle approach.
"What I love about modern Art Deco is its ability to add glamour without being overwhelming," says Kara. "It’s about introducing those refined touches—like metallic accents or smoked glass—that bring elegance to a space while still feeling approachable."
While we lean toward natural finishes, we enjoy adding small nods to this trend, like our Gold rimmed Martini Glasses, Champagne Glasses, Kennet Gold Candlesticks to create a space with just the right touch of drama and sophistication. To further add some stylish finishes to your table, you could also use the Gold Woven Beaded Placemats or Napkin Ring with Gold Leaves Pattern. In-store we also have a range of lamps, clocks and mirrors to bring touches of the art deco in your space without overwhelming it.
3. Statement Lighting
Lighting is stepping into the spotlight in 2025, with oversized lamps, sculptural designs, and bold textures taking centre stage. Think rattan pendants, frosted glass, and brushed metal finishes. Lighting is no longer just about illumination—it’s a defining feature in every room.
"We’ve always loved lighting as a design element," Kara shares. "One of our big projects for 2025 is to get more of our lamps online—though some are so large, they’ll stay in-store only! Watch this space."
From sleek black curved floor lamps to warm amber glass candleholders, the right lighting can transform a space. Currently, lamps are only available in-store but watch this space for later in 2025.
4. Natural and Patinated Textures
In 2025, interiors are embracing materials that tell a story. Natural and patinated textures—such as aged brass, reclaimed wood, and brushed stone—are set to take centre stage. These surfaces bring warmth and character, creating spaces that feel layered and inviting.
"Patinated textures are all about celebrating imperfections," Kara explains. "They’re what make materials like aged brass or reclaimed wood feel so special and timeless."
What is patinated? It’s the look of a surface that’s aged beautifully over time—think the soft sheen of aged metal or the weathered charm of reclaimed wood.
5. Smoked Glass: A Modern Classic
Subtle yet striking, smoked glass is a key material for 2025. Its translucent tones and understated elegance make it a versatile choice for lighting, decor, and tableware.
"Smoked glass has a refined quality that works beautifully in modern rustic spaces," Kara explains. "It’s an easy way to add sophistication without overwhelming the room."
From candleholders to vases, smoked glass pairs effortlessly with natural textures like wood and brass. Explore our Smoke Wine Glasses and Smoke Champagne Flutes (sold individually), perfect for adding a touch of smoky sophistication while still letting the rich tones of your drink shine through.
